Breakfast and Brunch Menus to Start the Day (or Evening) Right.

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Depending on what you eat, it sets the pace for rest of the day. Foods served at breakfast can be made especially attractive and tasty.

When its time for entertaining, the possibilities of breakfast are frequently overlooked in favor of other times of the day.A good point to remember, in favor of breakfast or brunch, is that breakfast foods are less expensive than those for other meals. Also, guests tend to eat less in the morning than they do for lunch or dinner.

If you work during the week but still want to entertain, a Sunday morning breakfast or brunch is easy to host and provides a setting for the crowd to get together. You have to make breakfast anyway, so you might as well invite a few friends over an make a party out of it. And remember, just because its breakfast or brunch, that doesn't mean it has to be served in the AM. People love eating breakfast foods at all times of the day. Why not throw a pajama party and have breakfast for dinner?

Lots of Breakfast items can be purchased from your favorite bakery and mixed with items you can make from scratch. The menu can be a simple two course affair of fruit juice’ and main course with beverage or it can consist of a buffet full of exciting dishes.

Here are some suggestions:

*Assorted Seasonal Fruit Plate

**Shirred Eggs in Custard Cups

Bacon

Muffins

Butter Jam

Coffee

*Fresh fruit attractively arranged on a plate is a change from the everyday breakfast fruits or juice. In the center of

your platter, place the top of a pineapple for decoration. Place a small bunch of grapes, perhaps two varieties on either

side. To one side arrange slices of one or two kinds of melons. Add a peach half, apricot half, pear half, an unpeeled apple

slice, grapefruit and orange sections, banana slices sprinkled with lemon juice, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries,

cherries, pineapple wedges, plum halves, as desired.

**A shirred egg is a baked egg. Break an egg into a greased custard cup. Add 1 tablespoon cream for each egg, sprinkle with

salt and pepper, dot with butter. Bake at 350 degrees about 15 minutes or until the whites are set.

Honeydew Melon Rings*Eggs Benedict

Coffee

*Eggs Benedict consist of a slice of ham on a toasted English muffin topped with a poached egg and a spoonful of hollandaise

sauce.
