Want a Quick and Easy Party? Try an Omelette Party!

How do you really host a Omelette party? Well its easy if you have the right equipment. This type of party is great for bridal showers and gatherings where you may have some people there who don't know each other.

Here's how to do it:

One of the first things you should think about is how many guests are going to be there. Invite some of your close friends and make it casual or make in to a breakfast or brunch party where each person get to creat their own omelette. That way it could be more fun for you and the other guests can get involved . Also you won't have to be chained to the stove during the entire party.

The second thing you should probably think about is the ingredients. All of the omelette ingredients can be prepared in advance and that will give you time to set up your omelette station. The ingredients list for what can go into an omelette is endless. To make things easy on yourself, have 4-6 ingredients only. Omeletts that are fat and over filled take too long to cook through and are somewhat unnattractive.

The final thing you must do is get yourself a portable gas stove and an omelette pan. If you have an open kitchen where your stovetop is on a center island where people can gather around, you don't need the portable stovetop.

Once you got the first three steps figured out, prepare everything so you are ready befor your guests arrive. Much, if not all, of you ingredients can be prepped a day in advance. Make up you omelette mixture, no recipe needed. Just figure two or three eggs per person and whip then up with a little cream or water. Place them in a covered container and refriferate intil need. When its time for the party just ladle out the mixture into a nonstick pan and get flipping!

Your fillings can be prepared a day ahead by chopping them up, cooking, if nescesssary, and placing them in ramekins. For interesting fillings try chorizo sausage, goat cheese, spinach, sauteed mushrooms, carmelized onions, sundried tomatoes, fresh herbs, sauteed squash, smoked salmon or diced, cooked potatoes. Use your imagination. Clean out the fridge!

Round out your menu by serving a basket full of bakery breads and jams. A fruit salad would be a nice complement as well.

Your guests will have fun mixing and matching fillings. You can even have a contest for best looking omelette.

Although it may seem a little overwhelming, with some advance preparations your omelette party should go smoothly.
