Everyone Loves a Good Sandwich.

A sandwich dinner party leaves more to the imagination than you would think. A dinner party with the main entree being a sandwich, is a prefect idea for a birthday party, sports party or an informal casual gathering. when it comes to a sandwich dinner party the options are limitless and many types of sandwiches can be prepared well in advance.

Having sandwiches for dinner is a good way to also sample new taste combinations that you don't normally think of putting together. Like Peaches and brie cheese on a panini!

Deciding on sandwiches from the beginning makes planning a party more simple . The side dishes seem to just fall into place. Pasta or Potato salad, fresh fruit and cookies, cakes, pies or brownies for a dessert and you're done. As far as cost you cant go wrong. For a smaller party of 4-6 people, your total investment may be less than $30 if you stick to deli sliced meats where you can control the amount they give you. That is a steal compared to ever increasing prices of meat trays and fruit/vegetable trays. Just think of the possibilities if you have your own garden that is ready to be harvested. That would obviously make the cost for the dinner party even less .

Having Sandwiches also lends itself to different themes. If you want to do a French Themed dinner party, why not have a croque monsieur? This traditional French Sandwich is served hot with ham Swiss, and a creamy bechamel sauce. This is definitely a filling knife-and-fork sandwich.

My favorite all-around good sandwich is the Big bread sandwich which was created by the well known Silver Palate in New York.You wont find the bread for this sandwich at your local grocery store, so you'll have to find a good bakery near you, or make the bread yourself. I know that probably too much to ask of most people, but in the end it will be worth it.
